Funding Opportunities

  • Apply for up to £3000 of renewable Research Network funding to bring people together to discuss key questions in your area of interest (open to all individual categories of membership).
  • Everyone is eligible to apply for conference bursaries taking the form of a free conference place at our annual international conference (precedence may be given to young/new researchers or those from countries with recognised funding difficulties)
  • Ask for a Travel Award, which offers up to £400 towards travel costs
  • Apply for one or more of our annual Awards for a chance to win some of prizes;
  • Two Bill Ogden memorial prizes are available covering a free conference place and limited travel support to the winter conference.
  • Apply for up to £1000 to support your regional studies event via our Event Support Scheme
  • Early career members can apply for the RSA Early Career Award. Awards are provided to support a discrete piece of regional studies and/or regional science research. The value of the award is up to £10,000 and has a maximum time span of 18 months, reporting conditions apply.

Opportunities

  • Present your work at our open and friendly conferences and events - our events welcome papers from all types of members and offer advice that comes from the paper referees
  • Get actively involved with your Association - we welcome pro-active membership - join with us in using the Association to shape the field and to support innovation
  • Win one of a number of prizes awarded each year by the Association and take part in some of the judging
  • From 1st January 2009 all current (paid) individual, early career, student and associate members may use the post-nominal MeRSA following their family name.
