The current editor, Professor Robert Hassink, finishes his term of office in March 2011.
The Regional Studies Association, owners of REGIONAL STUDIES, are seeking to appoint a successor in December 2010 to take up post in April 2011 for a five year duration.

The appointee will work in close association with the other editors of the journal, Arnoud Lagendijk, Stefanie Dühr and Barrie Needham (all Radboud University Nijmegen, Netherlands); Ron Boschma and Frank van Oort (both Utrecht University, Netherlands); Edward Feser (University of Illinois, USA); Koen Frenken (Eindhoven University of Techonology, Netherlands); John Henneberry (University of Sheffield, UK); Simona Iammarino (London School of Economics, UK); Laurence Ma (University of Akron, USA); Päivi Oinas (Turku School of Economics, Finland); Andy Pike (Newcastle University, UK); André Torre (AgroParisTech, France) and Attila Varga (University of Pécs, Hungary).

Critical Surveys is a periodic section that comprises agenda-setting work, timely reviews and grouped contributions and dialogue around important and emergent themes in regional studies. Some of these papers are specially commissioned.

The aim of the Critical Surveys section is to promote academic critiques of significant developments in regional research, policy and practice, based on reviews of internationally recognised literature and studies. The role of editor is to encourage the submission of such articles that are based on sound theory and argument; to assist authors in developing high standards of quality and rigour, and to oversee the process by which the contributions are subject to the full Regional Studies refereeing process.

The Regional Studies Association makes a financial contribution towards editorial expenses incurred but the post of editor is honorary.

Closing Date: Friday 29th October 2010
