The Changing Dynamics of Leadership and Partnership
across European Regions

The research network aims to:-

  • Bring together academics/policy/practitioners in 3 countries to examine the changing dynamics of leadership/partnership arrangements in regional policy.
  • Measure the congruence of the nine criteria of Europe 2020 in different regions.
  • Provide a forum to exchange knowledge between academics, policy makers and practitioners about how partners in different regions are responding to recent policy shifts (in the UK for example the dismantling of RDAs and establishment of LEPs).
  • Examine the role of state, non state, civic, business, societal actors in regional policy arrangements.
  • Consider the levels of institutional capacity/regional stakeholder capacity across regions by comparing policy implementation at regional levels.
  • Identify evidence of catalytic projects/case studies where leaders/actors are managing growth/decline.
