Regional Development and the Changing Geography of Outsourcing Business Services in an Enlarged Europe

While much attention has been paid to the patterns and impacts of foreign direct investment in general, there has been less focus on the outsourcing of services, which now constitute a considerable proportion of foreign investments, contributing to an emerging European shift in the distribution of business services provision. The Research Network aims to build upon the theoretical framework of value chains and the changing division of labour, which will be embedded in an understanding of recent trends in corporate restructuring.
